One of the best things ever invented for traveling is the airplane. Because of it traveling is much faster and a lot of things essential for business and basic necessity are transported easily and quickly from place in the world to another. Today, air travel is made possible because of airline companies.

Airline companies provide air transport both for people and freight. They vary widely in size and extent of service coverage from a company with just one or two airplanes to huge multinational companies that provide travel services to virtually all major cities in the world. The phenomenal growth of the airline industry began shortly after the Second World War and now it is one of the major industries that define the world. Without the airline industry, almost everything will collapse and interconnectivity between and among nations in the world will be shut down.

Airline companies operate in many different ways. Most huge airline companies purchase their aircrafts and customize the internal and external designs according to their special services. They also do their own staffing of the pilots and cabin crews. Other smaller airline companies lease their aircraft and have their staffing through an independent company. For the entire airlines, there is huge ground staff that supports the airlines in terms of reservation and ticketing, sales and promotion, cleaners, caterers, and loaders, among others.

When there was a rapid growth in the airlines industry, what used to be an expensive and reserved for the few way of traveling has become so highly affordable and more and more people now enjoy the ease, convenience and the quick travel time through an airplane. Because of this, all aspects of the global economic structure have changed.
