Traveling has become an inevitable part of human civilization. From the time that the wheels were invented, life has never been the same again. Everything became convenient and a lot of things became accessible. With traveling man is enabled not only to go to another place faster but also allowed human activities such as business and commerce thus, improving living conditions better. With it, food and basic necessities in life can be brought to places where they are needed. How much more did we see as a leap in human civilization when traveling in the air was invented through the airplane? You can just imagine how life can still be difficult if we cannot travel to another place in the world as fast and as convenient as we have it with air travel through airplanes.

Air travel is made possible through airlines that provide us with the airplane as a means of transportation. To be able to travel through an airplane, an airline company requires in general and airline ticket. The airline company or a travel agency issues the airline ticket as a form of document as a form of confirmation that a seat on an airplane flight has been purchased. This will be required from a passenger along with his boarding pass before he is allowed to get in the airplane in the airport during his scheduled flight. A fee is paid for the airline ticket and is generally good only for used in the airline where it was bought. In some instances though, an airline can endorse the same ticket to another airline on a standby basis until an available seat has been confirmed.

There are several restrictions imposed by the airline company on an airline ticket, one of which is the policy on being non-refundable. Although there are airline companies that allow the purchase of an “open ticket” where travel on any flight between the destinations listed on the ticket is possible, most airlines issue tickets that are only for a specific flight.
